A counter-terrorism operation carried out by Turkish police in the northwestern province of Yalova ended in tragedy after ISIS terrorists opened fire on security forces, resulting in the martyrdom of three police officers.

The operation was conducted at a house located on the Elmalık village road in Yalova’s central district, following intelligence indicating the presence of ISIS members. During the raid, terrorists inside the house opened fire on police teams, triggering an armed clash.

As a result of the attack, three police officers were killed in the line of duty, while eight police officers and one neighborhood watchman were injured. Authorities stated that the operation was carried out with extreme caution due to the presence of women and children inside the building.

Five women and six children were safely evacuated from the house during the operation. In the ensuing clash, six ISIS terrorists were neutralized.

President Erdoğan Issues Condolence Message

Following the confirmation of the deaths of the three police officers, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan issued a message of condolence.

“I extend my condolences to our nation,” President Erdoğan said in his statement.
“I pray for God’s mercy upon our heroic police officers who were martyred during this morning’s operation against the ISIS terrorist organization in Yalova. I offer patience to their families and extend my condolences to our Police Force, our country, and our nation. I wish a speedy recovery to our injured officers.”

President Erdoğan emphasized that Turkey’s fight against terrorism will continue without compromise.

“Our struggle against these bloodstained terrorists who threaten the peace of our nation and the security of our state will continue resolutely, comprehensively, and without concession, both within our borders and beyond,” he said. “May God grant our martyrs eternal peace and a place in paradise.”
