According to Presidential appointment decisions published in the Official Gazette, major changes have been made in the Turkish Cabinet.
Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç and Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya have stepped down from their posts after requesting to be relieved of duty.
Following Tunç’s departure, İstanbul Chief Public Prosecutor Akın Gürlek has been appointed as the new Minister of Justice.
Meanwhile, Erzurum Governor Mustafa Çiftçi has been appointed as the new Minister of Interior, replacing Ali Yerlikaya.
The decisions stated that both ministers requested their dismissal (“relief from duty”).
